Politics

A healthy Politics is predominant for a Country’s development. The question is ‘Are we led by Eminent leaders?’

Indian Politics is the easiest field to enter without any basic qualification and money being the only prerequisite for the entree.Any one who slips off the track enters the politics. And ‘Corruption’ stays as lively as ever in our politics.

It can be found that there prevails a poor ratio in votes of Educated to the Illiterates. It is pathetic to see the younger Generation blames the Government for the poor Administration and keeps away from voting. This is the responsibility that is even for all the citizens. It is not something that the youngsters could not handle,of course the younger Generation can change the way our country being administered.Besides the fact that youngsters do not compete in the elections directly, there should at least be a minimal contribution of their’s to the Country in form of voting to opt the right leader.

The Indian Election system as such, has many flaws. When there are Exams conducted for the posts of I.P.S.,I.A.S. , etc. why not for the Ministers of the Cabinet? This may be a clumsy or an old idea which has already been debated at many occasions, but still this could bring out the change the country needs.

So what I suggest is there should be Exams conducted in order to filter out only the perfectly kowledged to compete in the Elections. The Exams could be G.K based. The questions should be on the basis of current events and reflecting their ideas that would possibly help in the development of the society.

When there an age limit for every jobs, from mechanical to clerical jobs and from private sector to public sector, there should be an age limit for competing in the elections as well.Consider our Chief Minister who is not even able to walk by his own is the leading state. In other words the leader should be healthy and not wobbly who would, by any time be bed-ridden.I am neither being insolent nor deprecating the aged.Of course experience of the senior citizens should also be considered. Also when time comes, the moth-eaten should know when to handover the powers to their sub-ordinates.There after they should try to supervise them.

The poor and the illiterates who are really helpless are targeted easily. Some politicians try to entice them by offering money.Such events that are happening more than often are despicable. This should be checked by the Election system.

The Educated, which reckons that Politics is bound to be a dirty game of power, forgets that there is the absolute power residing with politics that would change the fate of our country, the power that would lead our Country to eternal glory.

Its time we did something to amend our administration.Let the aged morons step down and give way for the younger generation. It is only natural that every generation takes the place of its previous generation.I hope they would understand this and trust the youth.

  1. In a democracy, everybody has a right to lead the country. You cannot disqualify people on the grounds that they do not have education. They may not have had the opportunity to pursue education or know about the global and general affairs. But they may be more than capable of solving the problems of their constituency effectively. If you don't want an elderly politician, don't vote for him.But we cannot set retirement ages.People have the power to select or reject the MPs.Then what is the need for setting these standards?
